A glance at 2011 :engagement sessions:

undefinedHi all!! Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday… I can’t believe Christmas is over (I so love the festive atmosphere of the holidays >_<) and we are already starting a new year. 2011 has been such a great year for me personally and for my business.  It has been super hectic and eventful but it has also been filled with truly awesome couples who were so in love and really amazing weddings. We’ve even had even had the pleasure of having our work featured on Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks, and Glamour and Grace wedding blogs to name a few…  This post gives me the perfect excuse to take a break  and reflect on how great 2011 really was. One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is getting to create some really creatively unique, fun, super personalized engagement sessions with my couples. Here is a photo review of our 2011 engagement sessions! And before you see all the photos, I want to give a huuuuge heartfelt thanks to all my wonderful couples and readers who have made this past year so memorable for us…. Here is to an even more incredible 2012!  Whoo!! I’m so excited for what this year will hold. Tune in later this week for a photo journey of our weddings from 2011. ^.^*undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Sneaking away from the hustle and bustle of the reception up to the rooftop…. and quietly reveling in the arms of your new husband with the stunning backdrop of the Brooklyn Bridge.. What an ideal way to end such a magical day. ^.^

:Personal: Momofuku Noodle Bar

undefinedAfter yesterday’s awesome family session at Rockefeller Center, Michael and I decided to drop by David’s Chang’s Momofuku Noodle Bar. Going there has been on my list for longer than I would care to admit, but for some reason or other, I never made it there. My interest was renewed recently as I am reading his Momofuku cookbook on my kindle fire.  A close second passion of mine next to photography is cooking, so this book was right up my alley! It doesn’t just feature recipes from his Momofuku restaurants (Ssam Bar, Ko, and the Noodle Bar), but it also tells the story behind the menu and inspiration for each restaurant. Either way, after seeing all the yummy photos and reading about all the dishes at Momofuku, I HAD to go even more than ever. I must say, I don’t know why I waited so long to go. The food is super, super delicious (my mouth is watering as I am typing!) and they also offer craft beers, which is always a plus for us beer snobs like Michael and me. ^.^Here are some of the photos from the meal. We ordered a lot of food- don’t judge us! ^.~undefinedundefinedThe lychee soju (Korean spirit) slushie. The awesome part about using Soju in mixed drinks is that it is virtually impossible to detect, but I have never had it in a slushie. Two words- freakin’ amazing!undefinedundefinedMomofuku’s signature pork belly buns in hoisin sauce, and pickled cucumbers. I had heard a lot about these buns, but they were even better than I could have ever imagined. Michael absolutely loved them and he will not go near any fat… EVER. But, these were cooked so perfectly…. with their crispy exterior and the rest just melts in your mouth.undefinedundefinedRoasted rice cakes. I had to try David Chang’s rendition of a Korean favorite, where he roasts the rice cakes giving it a really complex texture, almost like a hot pretzel.  The sauce is sooo good!undefinedMomofuku RamenundefinedThe noodles were chewy and delicious and they didn’t get soggy, not even by the time we got to the end of the bowl! Love!undefinedKimchi Pork Tamale. Korean and Mexican Fusion? The kimchi works surprisingly well with the tamale! The filling was great, but the masa was a bit dry. It wasn’t our favorite dish, but it was really interesting nonetheless.undefinedundefinedundefinedFull and satisfied faces. ^.^

Jasmine - Yummmmmy!!! The food looks bombdigity. I know you guys love your ramen :D

December 2, 2011 - 4:29 pm

Yanshu - haha that’s awesome! I have that book too!!! i really liked the lychee soju and the pork buns also!!! i didn’t like their ramen that much though, i think Ippudo’s ramen is pretty good, but that place usually has a long wait =[.

December 2, 2011 - 6:18 pm

Rain - hi erika! this post just made me so hungry! i hope you two went to the milk bar after for some crack pie!

i’m obsessed with the momofuku cookbook- and this lady’s food blog dedicated to momofuku- http://momofukufor2.com/

hope all is well with you & michael. happy holidays!
