:Darkroom Diaries: Clutter-free

As a Wedding Photographer, I am often put in situations where the location is less than ideal. That’s when I have to summon my creativity a little and still come out with awesome images that my couples will love.  In this particular situation the excess cords are distracting and the clutter underneath the makeup station is just plain unattractive (!). So, in order to remedy the problem I had 3 choices (a.) crop out the unattractiveness in the camera  (b.) take the image and edit it in photoshop or (c.) physically remove the unwanted items.  These are all really viable options, but as I was standing there I really liked the perspective of the bride getting ready for her big day (the anxiety/excitement that she was feeling is reflected perfectly in her body language especially in the the curling of her feet around the chair), so cropping out the clutter, and losing all the emotion, was out of the question. In addition, since the hair tools on the table were being used, removing those items would have worked for me, but probably wouldn’t have been appreciated by either the bride or the MUA! So, I decided to take the shot as is and edit it in post-processing. ^.^ Scroll down for the final image!
